Protecting Religious Liberty: the Importance of Separation of Government and Religion
Rev. Nancy Brink will discuss why the first clause of the first amendment to the U.S. Constitution is more important than ever. The principle of church-state separation is the only way to ensure freedom of religion, including the right to believe or not believe, for all Americans.
Rev. Brink is a Trustee for Americans United for the Separation of Church and State in Washington, DC. She is also the Director of Church Relations at Chapman University in Orange, CA where she leads a group of over 80 Disciples and UCC students at this Disciples-related university. She serves as a campus chaplain, is responsible for raising money for church related scholarships, recruits Disciples and UCC students and supports the student ministry. Rev. Brink brings to Chapman her extensive experience as a global traveler, leadership coach, labyrinth facilitator and spiritual mentor.
Previously, Rev. Brink was a parish pastor for 30 years, 20 of them as Senior Minister of North Side Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Omaha, NE. She holds a M.Div. from the Divinity School of Vanderbilt University.
DWMC luncheons require prior registration to attend. RSVP here.
